Epson’s business scanners now compatible with TIS solution
New partnership will boost Epson’s business scanner exposure in the document management market, strengthen its position in the business scanner market and widen its visibility to an international audience.
19 January, 2010 – Epson, global imaging expert, and Top Image Systems (TIS), innovator of data capture solutions, today announce a new compatibility agreement with the TIS solution: eFLOW Unified Content Platform™. Responding to widening demand and the increasing importance of document management in businesses, this new compatibility will further Epson’s exposure in the document management market while strengthening its position in the business scanner market.
Active in more than 40 countries, TIS delivers superior technology and solutions to capture, understand and sort any information entering an organisation. Its proprietary software, eFLOW Unified Content Platform™, provides customers with a single effective, flexible, end-to-end solution to capture, classify, process, validate and deliver business-critical data contained within incoming documents.
Patrick Perrot, Product Manager, Epson Europe, commented: “Epson has a strong reputation for developing innovative business scanning products that enhance productivity and maximise efficiency. Our new compatibility with the TIS solution will help attract independent solutions vendors to the Epson network. We are excited about strengthening Epson’s position in the document management market, widening its visibility and reinforcing its commitment to meeting the needs of business customers throughout Europe.”
The new agreement is associated with the Epson GT-S80 business scanner, which offers exceptional business performance and incorporates a range of features designed to enhance speed, quality, reliability and value for money. The scanner has an automatic document feeder capacity of 75 A4 sheets and achieves a scanning speed of 40 pages per minute and a conversion rate of 80 images per minute. Features such as one-pass duplex scanning, ultrasonic double-feed detection, batch separation and auto blank page removal maximise performance, saving time and increasing productivity.
Perrot continued: “This agreement with TIS will lead to improved communications, reduced costs and paper requirement, and will also facilitate data archiving.”
A range of modules has been proposed by TIS, such as eFLOW Invoice Reader for Accounts Payable users and eFLOW for Mailroom. These will complement the Epson features currently incorporated, which include searchable PDF, RGB colour dropout, automatic de-skew, secure PDF and text enhancement.
Epson offers a Solutions Partnership Programme to provide support to resellers, independant solutions vendors and the value added resellers that are interested in selling Epson scanners and help them develop their businesses. The benefits of the scheme include a marketing kit, technical and developer support, equipment loans, tender participation and training sessions. Resellers are also able to promote their own business solutions via the Epson website.
